However, I admit that I worship the God of our ancestors as a follower of the Way, which they call a sect. I believe everything that is in accordance with the Law and that is written in the Prophets, and I have the same hope in God as these men themselves have, that there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.
Acts 24:14-16 (New International Version)
Do you believe in the resurrection?
Self-examination and confession
Even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God,
for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents
from sending calamity.
Joel 2:12-13 (NIV)
Repentance is an inward attitude that causes us to be sorrowful for our sin and leads to an outward change.
What sin is in the way of my relationship with God and other people?
What priorities in my life need to change to align with God’s call to love God and other people?
Is there anything in my life that Jesus is asking me to let go of and leave behind as we journey to the cross?
Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return Repent, and believe that Jesus died for you.
